The owners of a Cadillac Escalade contacted the Ridgecrest Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from in front of their residence. The Ridgecrest PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

Later that evening an officer from the Bakersfield Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Cadillac to the 2900 block of Half Moon Bay Drive in Bakersfield. The officer found the Cadillac to be occupied by an adult male who was detained and later arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. The Cadillac was recovered intact and undamaged; it was stored pending release to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac in May of 2006 at Mark Christopher Auto Center in Ontario, California.
