The owners of a 2005 Lexus RX 330 contacted the Atlanta Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a parking lot in the city and that it was equipped with a LoJack® System.  The owner had been out with his family and when they returned the Lexus was missing.

The Atlanta PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus. A short while later the Atlanta PD Air Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to an apartment complex. The Air Unit called for a unit on the ground to assist in tracking of the stolen Lexus and when an officer arrived at the location the officer spotted the stolen Lexus abandon in a parking space with no one around. After a search of the area the officer had the stolen Lexus towed to a local Impound lot.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus RX -330 in September 2008 at Visa Lexus in Woodland Hills, California.
