The owner of a Ford Ranger contacted the Beatrice Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner lent his Ford to a friend.  The friend, without the owner’s consent, lent it to another person, who said she was going to Texas.

The Beatrice PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Later, officers from the Waxahachie Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford to the downtown area and observed it traveling westbound.  This stolen Ford then pulled into a parking lot and officers got behind it before anybody could exit it.  There were two suspects inside the Ford.  The driver had felony warrants out of Nebraska and the passenger was the suspect who stole this Ford.  Both suspects were arrested.  This Ford was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Ranger in January of 2002 at The Ford Store in San Laendro, California.
