The owners of a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS called the Hayward Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from in front of their home in Hayward, California.

The Hayward PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Camaro.

A short while later officers from the Oakland Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Camaro with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Camaro to an industrial area in South Oakland where the undamaged Camaro was abandoned on the street.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Camaro in April 2011 at MK Smith Chevrolet in Chico, California.
