The owners of a 2012 Toyota Camry contacted the San Bernardino Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a valet parking area.

Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later deputies from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Central Station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Camry with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the Camry to a parking lot of a large market and observed the vehicle leaving the lot. Deputies deployed on the Camry and detained the male driver and female passenger. A field investigation led to the driver, a “two striker,” confessing he had stolen the Camry.  The passenger was arrested for Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia. Both suspects were booked on felony charges.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in July 2013 at Enterprise in Rialto, California.
