The owner of a 2001 Ford Expedition left the keys in the ignition, radio on and door open while parked in front of his residence.  The owner went inside of the residence and upon return observed his Ford driving down the road.  The owner contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report the Ford as stolen.

The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the vehicle theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later, Officers from the Las Vegas Metro PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford a short distance away abandoned.

The Las Vegas Metro PD recovered the stolen Ford and it will be released back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Expedition in May 2005 at Claremont Ford in Claremont, California.
