The owners of a Ford Windstar contacted the Hemet Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of Hemet.

The Hemet PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within 6 minutes Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Deputies tracked the Ford to a residential neighborhood located at the 700 block of Arbor Street in Hesperia. One suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Windstar in January 2004 at Enterprise in Riverside, California.
