The owners of a 2005 Ford Mustang contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of Los Angeles.

The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within 13 minutes Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Deputies tracked the Ford to a residential neighborhood located at the 23000 block of Hemlock Avenue in Moreno Valley. One suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Mustang in March 2006 at Palm Springs Motors Inc., in Cathedral City, California.
