The owners of a Honda Accord contacted the Bakersfield Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from in front of their residence. The Bakersfield PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Less than two hours later an officer from the Bakersfield PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Honda to the 6800 block of Nadeau Street in Bakersfield. The officer found the Honda unoccupied and abandoned on the side of the road.

The Honda was recovered intact and undamaged; it was released to the owner at the scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in July 2000 at Scott Robinson Honda in Torrance, California.
