The owners of a 2007 Cadillac CTS contacted the San Jose Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in San Jose.

The San Jose PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

A short while later officers from the Santa Clara Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Cadillac to a residential street in San Jose.

Officers set up surveillance on the Cadillac.  After a short time four parolee gang members entered the Cadillac and they attempted to drive away.  Officers arrested the four gang members who were on their way to commit a “Drive-By Shooting.”  Officers recovered three hand guns and the undamaged Cadillac.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac CTS in May 2007 at St. Claire Cadillac in Santa Clara, California.
