The owners of a 2006 Ford F250 truck contacted the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a construction site in Martinez, California.

The Contra Costa SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford truck.

A short while later officers from the Pittsburg Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to an industrial area in Pittsburg where the undamaged Ford truck was abandoned.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F250 in May of 2006 via Commercial Sales.
