The owners of a 2004 Honda Civic contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of an apartment complex.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Thirty-two minutes later, deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Honda to a neighborhood near 104th Avenue and Indian School Road in Phoenix.

The deputies found the Honda unoccupied on a side street.  The Phoenix PD officers responded and took disposition of the recovery.  The Honda was processed for evidence and later returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in December 2003 at Penske Honda in Ontario, California.
