The owners of a 2009 Land Rover contacted the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

A short time later, patrol deputies from the Ventura County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Land Rover to the area of Los Angeles Ave and Market Place. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and took the suspect into custody for auto theft related charges.

The Land Rover was released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Land Rover in November 2009 at Jaguar Land Rover in Mission Viejo, California.
