The owner of a 2003 black Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicle discovered their vehicle missing. The owner contacted the Hallandale Beach Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

A short while later an Auto Theft Task Force investigator picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Escalade on their on board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The investigator began tracking the stolen Cadillac by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC’s screen. The investigator, along with their backup from the Hollywood Police Department, located the Cadillac parked abandoned in the 900 block of South 21st Avenue. The HPD established surveillance on the Cadillac. After several hours the surveillance was terminated. The Cadillac was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2003 Cadillac Escalade in March 2004 at Bayview Cadillac in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
