The owners of a 2005 Jaguar contacted the Fontana Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jaguar.

A short later, patrol officers from the Rialto Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Jaguar on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol units. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Jaguar was tracked to the area of the 160 block of Eucalyptus.  The officers conducted a felony traffic stop and the suspects fled on foot. The driver was taken into custody for auto theft related charges without further incident.  The passenger is still outstanding.

The Jaguar was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Jaguar in June 2004 at Galpin Jaguar Lincoln Volvo in Van Nuys, California.
