The owner of a 2009 Mercedes Benz contacted the Chula Vista Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Chula Vista.

The Chula Vista PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Within 17 minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes Benz E350, with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes Benz to the 4400 block of Hamilton Ave. in San Diego.

The Mercedes Benz was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz in August 2008 at Mercedes Benz of San Diego in California.
