The owners of a 2014 Lexus 300 contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short time later, patrol officers from the LAPD-West Los Angeles Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus on a LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their units. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Lexus was tracked to the area of the 2300 block of Midvale. The Lexus was parked on the street, near a shopping center, and had been abandoned by the suspect.

The Lexus was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus in April 2014 at Lexus Santa Monica in California.
