The owner of a 2012 Allmand Commercial Light tower contacted the Imperial County Sheriff’s Department to report that his construction equipment was stolen from a construction site in the un-incorporated area of Imperial County.

The Imperial County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Allmand light tower.

At a later time, deputies from the Imperial County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Allmand Light tower, with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the vehicle to an un-incorporated area of Highway 111 and Pound road in Imperial Valley.  The investigation was turned over to Auto Theft Investigators from the California Highway Patrol.

The vehicle had minor stripping.
