The owner of this Dodge Challenger contacted the La Palma Police Department and reported that vehicle had been stolen as a result of a residential burglary. The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge Challenger.

Within less than 15 minutes from the activation, flight officers from the Los Angeles Police Department in Air-18 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge Challenger with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the flight officers tracked the Dodge to the area of 88th St and Wadsworth.  The LAPD Southeast Vice Units responded to the area as Air-18 broadcasted that the Dodge was under observation and appeared to be pulling out of a parking space just east of Wadsworth.  Units deployed on the Dodge detaining two juvenile males without further incident. When the scene was processed, the subjects were taken to the Southeast Station and interviewed.  Both subjects admitted to the Residential Burglary in the city of La Palma.  Detectives from La Palma responded and assumed the investigation.  Both juveniles were detained in Juvenile Hall. Follow up investigation resulted in a full recovery of the loss taken from inside the residence.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Dodge Challenger in July 2013 at Common Wealth VW in Santa Ana, California.
