The owner of this Honda Civic contacted the Pomona Police Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen. The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within less than 2 hours from the activation, officers from the Pomona PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the 400 block of Banqor St, a local high school and located the vehicle.  As they approached they observed a male juvenile inside the Honda.  The officers detained this subject and conducted a field interview.  They were told that he had borrowed the Honda and did not know it was stolen.  Apparently he had used a shaved key to start the Honda.  This subject was detained and taken to the Pomona PD pending a Juvenile Detainer stolen vehicle charges. The Honda was later released to the victim, undamaged.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Honda in March 2000 at Sierra Auto Cars in Monrovia, California.
