The owners of a 1994 Acura Integra contacted the Carson City Sheriff’s office to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim exited work and discovered unknown suspects had stolen his Acura from the business parking lot.

The Carson City Sheriff’s verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

Less than 30 minutes later, both officers from the Reno Police Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Acura to the 7000 block of Mae Ann Street in Reno. The officers observed the Acura parked and abandoned in the rear of an apartment complex.

The Acura did not sustain any damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura Integra in December 1994 at Downey Acura in California.
