The owners of a 2007 BMW 650 contacted the Los Angeles Police Department Foothill Division to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

A short time later, patrol officers from the San Fernando Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are that are installed in their patrol units. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to the area of San Fernando Road and Bleeker. The BMW was parked at a local motel. The female occupant was taken into custody for auto theft and drug related charges without incident.  Officers conducted a follow up investigation to the room that that suspect had rented and arrested two additional suspects

The BMW was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW in September 2007 at Shelly BMW in Buena Park, California.
