The owners of a 2007 Dodge R1500 contacted the Los Angeles Police Department Devonshire Division to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

A short time later, detectives from the TRAP (Taskforce for Regional Auto theft Prevention) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge on the portable LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC), which are assigned to their detail.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Dodge was tracked to the area of the 21300 block of Itasca Ave. The Dodge was parked in a parking lot located in a commercial district.

The Dodge was recovered and impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge in September 2007 at Cars Direct.com in El Segundo, California.
