The owners of a 2011 Hyundai Genesis discovered that their car was stolen from the parking of a shopping mall in downtown San Jose California.

The San Jose PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hyundai.

45 minutes later the San Jose PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Hyundai with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the San Jose PD officers located the stolen Hyundai in south San Jose where it was abandoned and undamaged on a residential side street.  The owners of the stolen Hyundai were notified of their vehicle’s recovery and it was released to them in the field.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2011 Hyundai in April 2011 at Poway Mitsubishi in California.
