The owner of a 2005 Ford F-250 pickup contacted the Coalinga Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The Coalinga PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

The next morning, officers from the Coalinga PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in police vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers located the Ford in an industrial area near Polk and Enterprise avenues in southeast Coalinga. The Ford was found abandoned on the side of the road. It was recovered intact and undamaged and was stored pending release to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Pickup in February 2005 at Galpin Ford in North Hills, California.
