The owner of a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The Fresno PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

About 30 minutes after the LoJack was activated, a sergeant with the Fresno PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC’s) that are installed in police vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the sergeant tracked the Ford to the 2000 block of S. Hayston in southeast Fresno. The sergeant found the Ford abandoned in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The Ford was recovered intact and undamaged; it was stored pending release to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-250 in March 2004 at Hemborg Ford in Norco, California.
