The owner of a 2013 Lincoln MKZ contacted the El Cajon Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of El Cajon.

The El Cajon PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lincoln.

Within 14 minutes, officers from the El Cajon PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lincoln, with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lincoln to an apartment complex located at the 1000 block of Greenfield Drive.

The Lincoln was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid in April 2014 at Witt Lincoln Mercury in San Diego, California.
