The owners of a 2010 Toyota Camry contacted the California Highway Patrol North Sacramento Area office to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim indicated that their Toyota had been taken sometime during the night while parked in front of their residence.

The CHP verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Less than 30 minutes later, deputies from the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota to the area of Fruitridge and Medrano streets in Sacramento. The deputies observed the Toyota parked and abandoned at the curb of this residential area.

The Toyota was intact and did not sustain any damage.

The owner was contacted and responded to the location to take possession of his Toyota.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in September 2009 at Roseville Toyota in California.
