The owner of a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the 6300 block of Newsome Drive.

The Chevrolet was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Sonic in October 2014 at CarMax in Kearny Mesa, California.
