The owner of a 2009 BMW 128I contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW 128I.

Within 23 minutes, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW 128I with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to the 600 block of Camino Del Rio South.

The BMW was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 128I in October 2008 at Brecht BMW in Escondido, California.
