The owner of a Chevrolet C2E pickup contacted the Corona Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Corona.

The Corona PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Within 11 minutes, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Chevrolet to the 3300 block of Campbell Street.  Two suspects were seen inside the Chevrolet, they were followed for a short distance and a traffic stop was made.  After a foot pursuit one of the two suspects was taken into custody.

The Chevrolet was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet pickup in August 1997 at Showcase Chevrolet Geo in Garden Grove, California.
