The owners of a 2006 Toyota Camry contacted the Fairfield Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  Unfortunately the victim decided to warm his vehicle up in the driveway while he went back inside his residence to get a cup of coffee for the ride to work. Thieves took advantage and drove off with his Toyota.

The Fairfield Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later deputies from the Solano County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota to a residential area near Ketter Avenue and San Jose Court in the city of Fairfield. The deputy contacted the Solano County Auto Theft Task Force who responded and set up surveillance in hope of the thieves returning and making an arrest. After several hours of surveillance, and negative results, the owner was contacted and responded to pick up his Toyota.

Minus the keys there was no damage to the Toyota.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in May 2014.
