The owners of a 2005 Ford F150 contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Jurupa Valley Station to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Twenty-one (21) minutes later, patrol deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Apple Valley Station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Ford was tracked to the area of the 10900 block of Hesperia Road. The Ford was observed parked on the street. The deputies made contact with four suspects at the location. Detectives from the San Bernardino County Auto Theft Force responded to the location. The suspects were taken into custody for Grand Theft Auto without incident.  The detectives obtained and served a search warrant for the location. The detectives located stolen parts from the 2005 Ford F150 and from a stolen 1997 Honda Civic in the suspect’s vehicle and residence.

The vehicles were impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford in December 2004.
