The owners of a 1997 John Deere skip loader contacted the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department-Palmdale Station to report that their John Deere 210LE was stolen from a job site in Littlerock.

The deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the John Deere.

A short while later, detectives from Los Angeles County TRAP (North Team), picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen John Deere with the portable LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are assigned to their unit. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the skip loader to the area of 165th Street and T-4. The skip loader was being driven by a possible suspect, who was grading the dirt road. Investigation at the scene revealed that the skip loader was dropped off at the location by another person, and then left at the scene. Detectives are conducting follow-up investigations to locate the suspects involve in the theft.
