The owner of a Chevrolet Malibu contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from the city of El Cajon.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later officers with the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet Malibu with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the 5300 block of Quivera Ave.  The Chevrolet was located and three persons were arrested.

The Chevrolet was towed and returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Malibu in July 2008.
