The owner of this Nissan contacted the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen. The San Bernadino SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Within 15 minutes, deputies from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Victor Valley Station  picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Nissan to an open garage in the 13300 block of Aster. Assisting deputies responded and deployed in the area.  Follow up investigation led the deputies to an apartment at which time they made contact with the occupants.  A male subject was found to be in possession of the Nissan’s keys, was later arrested and booked for the stolen Nissan.  The Nissan was later returned to the victim and was undamaged.  Case referred to station detectives for follow up and filing of charges.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Nissan in February 2005.
