The owner of this 2014 Volkswagen Jetta contacted the Riverside Sheriff’s Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen. The Riverside SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen Jetta.

Within less than 30 minutes, deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department Moreno Valley Station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volkswagen with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Volkswagen from Frederick and Alessandro to a service station located on Alessandro and Old 215 Highway in Moreno Valley.  Deputies arrived at the location and noted that the Volkswagen was occupied at which time the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.  The suspect was later booked for vehicle theft.  The Volkswagen was later released to the victim undamaged. Case referred to station detectives for follow up.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Volkswagen Jetta in June 2014.
