The owner of a Ford F-350 contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his residence in Lakeside CA.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.
Five minutes later, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford F-350 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the 1900 block of Valance in San Diego.  A traffic stop was made and a suspect arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The Ford was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-350 in November 2009.
