The owner of a 2014 Chevrolet Impala discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from the area of North 36th Street in Philadelphia. The vehicle owner called 911 and Philadelphia Police Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and searched the area for the stolen vehicle. When the assigned officer could not locate the subject vehicle, he prepared a stolen vehicle report and took same to the 16th Police District HQ. The operations room supervisor arranged to have the stolen vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Within minutes of the LoJack activation command being broadcast from the LoJack tower network, officers from the Philadelphia Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the signal to the area of 38th Street and Lancaster Avenue where the officers observed the vehicle which was parked at the curb. The officers cautiously approached the vehicle and determined that same was unoccupied.

Philadelphia Police notified the owner that the undamaged vehicle had been recovered and provided information on how to reclaim the vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Chevrolet Impala on 03-15-14 at Turnersville Chevrolet and Buick in Turnersville New Jersey.
