Late in the evening, the owners of a 2008 Honda Civic contacted the Delran Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of Delran New Jersey. Delran Police responded to the call for service and interviewed the owner of the subject vehicle. The assigned officer checked the area for the stolen vehicle with negative results and then prepared a stolen vehicle report. The assigned officer then arranged to have the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later officers from the Philadelphia Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, an officer assigned to the Philadelphia Police Highway Patrol Division tracked the signal to the area of 800 East Allegheny Avenue. The officer observed the vehicle which was parked at the curb. The officer cautiously approached the vehicle and determined that same was unoccupied.  The apparently undamaged vehicle was confiscated for safekeeping and the Delran Police were advised to cancel their stolen vehicle alarm and advise the owner that the vehicle was recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Honda Civic on 04-01-08 at Honda of Turnersville in Turnersville New Jersey.
