The owners of a 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo contacted the Philadelphia Police Department   report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of their residence in West Philadelphia. Philadelphia Police Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer arrived on location, interviewed the vehicle owner and then searched the area for the stolen vehicle. When the vehicle could not be located, the Philadelphia Police Department entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later officers from the Philadelphia Police Departments 19th District picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the signal to the area of 52nd and Girard Avenue where the officers observed the vehicle which was parked at the curb. The officers cautiously approached the vehicle and observed a female who was asleep on the rear seat of the vehicle. The female was placed under arrest and transported to Philadelphia Police Southwest Detective Division where a Philadelphia Police detective was assigned to the investigation. The female was charged with violations of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code related to theft and the subject vehicle was subsequently returned to the vehicle owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carl on 07-21-2005 at Meissner Chevrolet of Philadelphia PA.
