The owners of a 2006 Toyota Lexus contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office to report their vehicle was stolen.

Riverside County SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s  airship Duke 1 and patrol deputies from Orange County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack silent signals from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the vehicle to the area of the 91freeway and Weir Canyon Road.  Working together, Duke 1 and the patrol deputies located the vehicle traveling southbound on the 91 Freeway at Green River. The deputies were able to stop the vehicle at the 91 Freeway and McKinley, in the city of Corona.  The vehicle had three occupants.  The driver was arrested for the theft of the vehicle.  The owner was called to the scene by the deputies and his undamaged vehicle was released to him.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus in April 2013.
