The owner of a Suzuki GSXR 600K contacted the Bensalem Police to report that their motorcycle was stolen from a parking location in Bensalem. A Bensalem police officer responded to the call for service and after interviewing the complainant prepared a stolen vehicle report. The investigating officer notified Bensalem Police HQ and the stolen vehicle information was entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the motorcycle.

A short while later Middletown Township police officers picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen motorcycle with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the signal to a residential area of Eaton Court in Middletown. The officers isolated the signal to a group of residences and notified the Middletown Township Detective Division regarding their situation. A Middletown Township detective responded to the scene, conducted an investigation and made contact with the Philadelphia Police Department’s Major Crimes Auto Squad with a request of specialized LoJack Tracking Equipment that is maintained by the Philadelphia Police Major Crimes Squad. A highly trained Major Crimes Auto Squad detective and investigator were dispatched to the scene in Middletown Township with the specialized LoJack equipment and assisted the Middletown officers. A search warrant was served on the subject location and the LoJack-equipped stolen Suzuki GSXR 600K was located in the kitchen area of the residence. A search of the location was conducted and the assigned officers and investigators subsequently located a second suspected stolen motorcycle, a quad which was apparently stolen as well as two suspected stolen scooters. Closer inspection of several of the vehicles revealed that the vehicle identification numbers had been removed.

This incident remains under investigation by the Middletown Township Police Department, the Bensalem Police Department, the Philadelphia Police Major Crimes Auto Squad and investigators assigned to the National Insurance Crime Bureau who will attempt to identify the vehicles that have had the vehicle identification numbers removed. Arrests are anticipated at the conclusion of a thorough police investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2004 Suzuki in April of 2008.
