The owner of this Lincoln contacted the Arvin Police Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen. The Arvin Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the now stolen Lincoln.

About twenty minutes after the LoJack® System was activated, a deputy with the Kern County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent signals from the LoJack® System on the LoJack® Police Tracking Computer installed in his patrol vehicle. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack® computer, the deputy tracked the vehicle to an apartment complex near downtown Arvin. The deputy located the vehicle unoccupied and abandoned in the carport area of the apartment complex. The victim’s vehicle was recovered intact and undamaged. It was returned to the owner at the recovery scene.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Lincoln Blackwood Pickup by Ft. Lauderdale Lincoln-Mercury in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in June of 2002
