The victim in this case was visiting a public park in Los Angeles, CA, on a recent Saturday, when she lost her keys. By the time she went home to get spare keys and returned, someone had already found the lost set and had taken off in her Honda Civic. This worrisome situation was short-lived, thanks to the great work of local law enforcement, with assistance from the LoJack® system that was installed inside her vehicle at purchase. With help from LoJack, police recovered her vehicle in less than a half hour after activation.

On July 5th, 2014, the Honda’s owner reported the crime to local police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Metro Honda in Montclair, CA.

24 minutes later, patrol officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The signals led the police to the area of Roscoe Blvd. With the assistance of air and ground units, the Honda was located at a gas station car wash. Two suspects at the scene were taken into custody. The Civic was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owner.
