In this case, a Chevrolet Astro van stolen in Phoenix, AZ, is recovered by air and ground units of their local police department, assisted by the LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased.

On July 10th, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Astro, which was installed at Power Chevrolet in Hawthorne, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, a Phoenix PD flight crew picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen van on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their helicopter. The flight crew located the Chevy in a hotel lot, parked and abandoned, and requested ground assistance. The ground officers retrieved the undamaged Astro and soon returned it to its appreciative owners.
