It didn’t seem like much of a holiday to the California residents in this case when their Toyota Corolla was discovered missing on the Fourth of July. Because their vehicle was protected with the LoJack® system, local law enforcement, with help from LoJack, recovered it in less than 15 minutes after activation.

On July 4th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Norwalk Station to report their vehicle was stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Power Toyota in Buena Park, CA.

Only 10 minutes later, officers from Anaheim PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Toyota traveling near Santa Ana Canyon Rd. and Imperial Highway. Backup was requested and they performed a traffic stop. The driver was arrested and the undamaged Corolla was returned to the owner at the scene.
