The LoJack® System Helps San Leandro, California Police Recover Stolen Honda Civic in Less than One Hour

When it comes to parking your vehicle safely, your home seems like a very secure location- until you wake up one morning and discover your car is gone, as was the case with this San Leandro, CA resident. This particular victim was smart- she had the LoJack® system installed when she purchased her Honda Civic. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered it in less than 60 minutes after activation.
On July 8th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the San Leandro Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Honda of Hayward, CA, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, San Leandro PD officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was located on a side street in San Leandro, where it was parked and unoccupied. Police retrieved the undamaged Civic and soon returned it to its relieved owner.
