The owner of a Lincoln Aviator got a very unpleasant surprise on a recent Friday when he discovered his SUV was missing from his driveway. Even though it was a holiday, local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system installed on the vehicle, recovered it, damage-free, later that same day.

On July 4th, 2014, the Lincoln’s owners contacted local police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Aviator, which was installed at Galpin Jaguar Lincoln in Van Nuys, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, flight officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their airship. The Lincoln was located traveling on 84th Street. Ground units were alerted and performed a traffic stop. The driver was taken into custody and the undamaged Aviator was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
