On a recent Saturday, the owner of a Ford Expedition in Los Angeles, CA, discovered his vehicle was missing from his residence. With help from the LoJack® system that was installed when the SUV was originally purchased, local police were able to make a fast, safe, damage-free recovery.

The Ford’s owner reported the crime to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department on July 5th, 2014. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Expedition, which was installed at Claremont Ford in Claremont, CA.

A short while later, police officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers spotted the Ford traveling on Western Avenue and requested air support. Eventually, a traffic stop was performed and the drive was taken into custody. The undamaged Expedition was soon returned to its appreciative owner.
